About Us

Karan Nayyar is the Founder and Head Coach of Silicon Valley Volleyball Club (SVVC), built around one simple goal: help people fall in love with volleyball.

Whether someone is picking up a volleyball for the first time or has been playing for years, SVVC welcomes beginners and players of all levels. Karan believes volleyball should be fun, encouraging, and accessible — a place where players can learn at their own pace, build confidence, make friends, and genuinely enjoy being on the court.

Karan brings over 30 years of playing experience, from high school and university to state-level competition, along with several years of coaching kids, teens, and adults. After a 21-year career in technology, most recently as a Director of Product Management at Oracle, he chose to pursue his lifelong passion for volleyball and coaching.

His approach combines decades of playing experience with formal coaching education and certifications, but his philosophy goes beyond technique. Progress matters, but love for the game comes first. When players enjoy volleyball, feel supported, and want to keep coming back, improvement naturally follows.

That philosophy is at the heart of SVVC. Through small groups, individualized attention, and a positive, low-pressure environment, every player is given the opportunity to learn, grow, and belong.

SVVC also believes that financial circumstances should not keep someone from playing volleyball. Sliding-scale pricing is available for families who need it — simply ask when contacting us.

Beginners. Experienced players. Kids. Teens. Adults. Everyone is welcome.
