Karan Nayyar is the Founder and Head Coach of Silicon Valley Volleyball Club (SVVC). After a distinguished 21-year career in the tech industry, most recently serving as Director of Product Management at Oracle, Karan made a bold and deeply personal decision to pursue his lifelong passion for volleyball.
With over 30 years of experience as a competitive player and several years as a dedicated coach, Karan brings a rare blend of high-level volleyball knowledge, structured teaching methodology, and genuine love for the game. He has played at high school, university, and state levels, and has coached club teams, private sessions, and group programs for kids, teens, and adults.
Believing that great coaching should be accessible to everyone, Karan re-learned the game from the ground up as a coach, completing formal head coach certifications and continuously refining his approach to teaching. His coaching philosophy extends beyond technique — it emphasizes confidence, joy, and a lifelong connection to volleyball.
SVVC was founded on a simple but powerful belief: volleyball should be accessible to everyone, regardless of experience, background, ability, or financial situation. The club openly welcomes families and players with different financial situations and provides sliding scale fees, just request sliding scale pricing in your communication.
From beginners taking their first steps on the court to experienced players refining advanced skills, SVVC focuses on small groups, individualized attention, and a supportive environment where every player feels valued and empowered.
At its heart, Silicon Valley Volleyball Club is more than a training program — it is a growing volleyball community built on inclusivity, passion, and a genuine love for the game.
